Tebibyte Infotech ("we", "us", or "our") operates the TrafficWatch mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable data protection laws, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India), and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable.
By using TrafficWatch, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
When you sign in using Google Sign-In, we receive the following from your Google account:
- Display name
- Email address
- Profile photo URL
We do not receive or store your Google account password.
2.2 Location Data (GPS)
TrafficWatch collects GPS-based location data to provide real-time traffic monitoring on your saved routes. This data is:
- Collected only when the App is actively monitoring your routes
- Automatically deleted after 48 hours from our servers
- Never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for profiling
Guest Mode: If you use TrafficWatch in guest mode, we do not collect any personal data, location data, or device identifiers. Guest mode provides limited functionality without any data collection.
2.3 Route and Preference Data
We store the routes you save, your notification preferences, alert thresholds, and App settings to provide a personalised experience.
2.4 Device and Technical Data
We collect minimal technical data necessary for App functionality:
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token for push notifications
- Device type and operating system version (for compatibility)
- App version and crash logs (for bug fixes)

3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide real-time traffic updates for your saved routes

- Process Premium subscription payments (handled by Google Play)
We do not use your data for advertising, behavioural profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the App's core functionality.
4. Third-Party Services
TrafficWatch integrates with the following third-party services:
4.1 HERE Maps API
We use HERE Technologies' mapping and traffic data services to provide real-time traffic information. Route queries are sent to HERE's servers. Please refer to HERE's Privacy Policy for their data handling practices.
4.2 Google Sign-In
Authentication is handled through Google Sign-In. We only receive the profile information you consent to share. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
4.3 Firebase Cloud Messaging
Push notifications are delivered via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). FCM tokens are stored solely for notification delivery. See Firebase's Privacy Policy for details.
4.4 Google Play Billing
Premium subscription payments are processed entirely by Google Play. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment card details or billing information.
No Ads. No Third-Party Trackers. TrafficWatch does not integrate any advertising SDKs, analytics trackers, or third-party data brokers. Your data stays between you, TrafficWatch, and the essential service providers listed above.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure with the following safeguards:
- All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest
- Access to servers is restricted by role-based access controls
- GPS data is automatically purged after 48 hours via automated processes
- Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments are conducted
6. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the App (Settings > Account > Delete Account)
- Data Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format
- Withdraw Consent: Revoke permissions at any time through your device settings
- Objection: Object to specific data processing activities

8. Children's Privacy

9. Data Retention
We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide the service:
- GPS data: Automatically deleted after 48 hours
- Account data: Retained until you delete your account
- Crash logs: Retained for 90 days
When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently erased from our systems within 30 days.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we will notify you via push notification or email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
